Overview
With over three hundred attendees made up of seventeen different universities, the first annual U.S. Information Technology Collegiate Conference was a total success! As co-hosts, Texas State University members were crucial to the success of this years contest. We want to thank all of our members for helping us get the conference ready, for participating in the competitions, and in making a name for USITCC for years to come!
We had a fantastic keynote speech from Eric Smith, USAA’s Vice President & Chief Data and Analytics Officer. Nine competitions took place through Saturday morning, with two of our students obtaining awards. In conjunction with ISECON 2018 we also had many speaking opportunities for students to get to hear from IT professionals with a wealth of experience.
Congratulations
We would like to specifically congratulate Tyler Ellison for placing third in the Security competition and Joseph Barmore for obtaining honorable mention in PC Troubleshooting! These competitions lasted for hours and their success speaks to their determination. Although not all of our members placed in a competition, we know all of our members showed up and gave it their best.
We’d also like to show our appreciation to USAA for being the title sponsor of this conference! USAA, along with College Raptor, COMMON, Our Lady of the Lake University, University of Houston and WraySec made this event possible.
