USITCC is right around the corner so keep an eye out for more information regarding arrangements and the competitions as we get closer. Also note that if you are participating in USITCC this year, we will have a mandatory meeting after our April 3rd chapter meeting. Finally, we want to thank Richard Beaver of Whole Foods, and Rob Howard of Technical Youth for taking time to speak with us at this month’s chapter meeting! Rob Howard spoke on some of the trends that are affecting IT hiring right now, and trends to look out for moving forward. Technical Youth helps emerging IT professionals get into a professional work place in consideration of their strengths and the needs of the industry. Richard Beaver spoke to us about Whole Foods and the effect of the recent Amazon acquisition from last year. As Director of Business Intelligence, Mr. Beaver was able to explain how Whole Foods is evolving under the new opportunities and pressures that come with being a subsidiary of Amazon. Whole Foods is also looking to expand its IT team in Austin, TX, so they are another great place to go if you’re looking to start your career this year. Check out some photos from the event below!
