Special thanks to Intersys for coming to speak to us for this months chapter meeting! In our guest’s presentation we were shown some of the many partner companies Intersys works with such as Amazon, Microsoft, Elastic, Cloudera, and HortonWorks. We also learned about Intersys core practice capabilities of technology staffing, application development, and big data & analytics with the focus areas of big data & analytics being business intelligence, big data, analytics, enterprise search and enterprise information management. Lastly our speakers shared with us some tools that are in demand such as Apache Spark, Databricks, Apache NiFi/Stream Sets Datacollector, Elastic Search, and Spark Streaming.
We had a great first meeting for the semester with plenty of new faces and we hope to see them and everyone else at our next chapter meeting with guest speakers from Charles Schwab on March 7th at 5pm in the LBJ Student Center, Room 3-14.1!
